The Best Yoga Shoes You Can Buy in 2022
What you’ll find at a yoga studio
Helloooo, all my yogi’s friends out there! Today, we’re going to talk about yoga shoes (one of my favorite topics). For all the smart chaps out there, hold on, because you NEED to read this article. I KNOW what you are thinking because I was in your shoes (ha-ha). I was thinking just like you: “Why the heck would I wear these funny looking shoes when I can just do yoga barefoot?” At first, whenever my mates asked me to try them out, I was like “No way I’m going to do that”.
But eventually, it happened. My friends convinced me to try them on and from that moment I was hooked. Man, I thought: These shoes are sooooo comfortable and flexible. I want to wear them all the time!
Now, even though my ego was hurt, because, well, I wasn’t right, I bought my first pair of yoga shoes and started to wear them in the yoga studio. And I can tell you this, whoever came up with this yoga-shoes-thing, is a genius because he spared our feet from pain and injuries.
There are many benefits of these shoes, so keep reading this article. In addition, you will learn how to choose the best pair for you and make the most out of your yoga routine. In fact, yoga is one of the things I recommend doing if you want to stay fit while traveling.
Yoga Shoes or Barefoot?
They are comfortable - In case your feet are sensitive and get tired fast, then you just have to treat them with yoga shoes. Trust me, your feet will be thankful. But these shoes aren’t only a good choice for someone who has painful feet, they are also perfect for adding more comfort to your yoga routine. Since they are made of flexible and lightweight materials, these shoes are guaranteed to offer top-notch comfort.
Your feet will be cleaner - I don’t know about you, but knowing that many people before me had actually used the same yoga mat is not such a thrilling idea. This is exactly why yoga shoes come in handy. Your feet won’t pick up all the bacteria and germs from the floor and yoga mat, simply because, well, you will wear yoga shoes.
You get more stability - The thing that bothers me the most when it comes to doing yoga is the grip. No matter what type of a mat I have, when I am sweaty, my feet will tend to slip. But, not with yoga shoes! The most important benefit is the stability that these shoes provide you with, as they prevent slipping.
Types of Yoga Shoes you can expect
There are two main types of yoga shoes, both of them providing extra flexibility and comfort. Naturally, you will choose the type that better suits your feet, so it is up to you to decide that.
Yoga Toe Shoes
As the name implies, these shoes are made in such a way that every toe has its own sock. These shoes give you better, more natural feel, and are perfect for yoga poses where you have to focus on separating your toes.
Yoga “Socks” Shoes
As you can imagine, these shoes look like socks, and they also feel like that, offering more flexibility and better grip. They usually come with a non-slip outsole and are made of breathable material so that your feet won’t sweat.
Yoga Shoe Buyers Guide
Now, here are a few things to consider when buying a good pair of yoga shoes.
Obviously, the material can make or break your yoga shoes. Therefore, choose wisely. A good pair of yoga shoes should be made of lightweight, flexible AND breathable materials, to provide good grip, air circulation, and comfort.
Do they fit you?
Even though this is a no-brainer, trust me, you should be careful when choosing the size of your yoga shoes. They have to fit you perfectly, so as to give you the best stability and grip they can.
Now, if you’re anything like me than you are also working out, besides doing yoga. Therefore, your yoga shoes should be versatile, assuming you don’t want to buy, like, five different pairs of shoes, for each type of workout and yoga routine you will be doing.

In addition, a synthetic sole prevents your feet from slipping on the mat. This also means that your feet will have additional support and stability, allowing you to perform yoga poses with confidence.
With a zero drop and lightly padded tongue, this pair of shoes is very comfortable.
Not only that, but these shoes are versatile, so you can use them for working out as well. As for the design, well, these shoes won’t sweep you off your feet (which definitely should not do anyway). However, they do come in four different colors to choose from, so you can at least match them with your yoga pants even if you don’t care about that.
But, what you certainly care about is how fast you can put these shoes on. Thanks to smart lacing system, you won’t have any problem with that. In fact, you will put them on and take them off in a blink of an eye.
The only caveat is that they come at a high-price. But they are well worth it.
Stay Calm and Yoga On
Having the yoga shoes can maximize all the effort you put in doing yoga poses, your focus and your feet health. So, I suggest you buy these shoes and you will be impressed with how comfortable they are. There are many yoga shoes out there, so keep in mind all the tips for choosing a good pair for you that I mentioned.
